Bali, Komodo or Raja Ampat: Which Yacht Charter Is Right for You?

Three of Indonesia’s greatest cruising grounds, three very different charters. Here is how to choose between them.

Bali & the southern islands — for a day or a long weekend

If you have a day or a few nights and want effortless luxury close to your villa, Bali is the answer. Day charters from Benoa reach Nusa Penida and Lembongan in a couple of hours — Manta Point, Crystal Bay, a chef-prepared lunch at anchor and a champagne sunset home. A three-night island escape adds secluded anchorages and stargazing dinners on deck. Best April–October.

Komodo — for dragons, dawn ridgelines and diving

Komodo is the classic Indonesian expedition: a 7-night loop from Labuan Bajo (a one-hour flight from Bali) taking in Komodo and Rinca’s dragons, the Padar ridgeline at sunrise, Pink Beach and Manta Point. It suits guests who want drama, wildlife and excellent diving in a single concentrated week. Best May–October.

Raja Ampat — for the ultimate expedition

The most remote and most rewarding: 10–12 nights from Sorong through the Dampier Strait, Fam, Piaynemo and Wayag, in the most bio-diverse seas on earth. It rewards experienced charterers with time and a love of diving, aboard a dedicated expedition phinisi. Best November–April.

Still deciding?

Many guests combine them — a Bali day charter to begin, then a flight to a Komodo or Raja Ampat expedition. Tell us your dates and appetite for adventure and we will build the route around you. Start planning →
